Does the RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus require an internet connection? Yes, since all cloning is done in the cloud a fixed internet connection (LAN), wi-fi connection, or hotspot function via smart phone or tablet is required.
Is MYKEYS Pro (MKP) required to operate the RW5? Yes, but ONLY to register the device and for initial set-up of an internet connection. Otherwise, the RW5 can operate in standalone mode along with an internet connection. If you choose, you can operate the RW5 using MYKEYS Pro although it is not required.
Is MYKEYS Pro required to operate the Smart Aerial Plus? Yes, MYKEYS Pro is required to register the Smart Aerial Plus, the initial set-up of the internet connection, and the step-by-step operation of the cloning process.
Is the U-Snoop still required? RW5, yes. It is still required for applications that require capturing communication between the key and the vehicle. Smart Aerial Plus, the U-Snoop capabilities are built into the device. You simply take the Smart Aerial Plus to the vehicle to capture the communication between the key and vehicle by holding the Smart Aerial Plus antenna near the ignition when cycling the keys.
Can the RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus generate code onto GTI-Pro? Yes, using the Generation menu within the RW5 or MYKEYS Pro.
Can the RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus identify transponder type, value, etc? Yes, by using the Identification menu within the RW5 or MYKEYS Pro.
How long does the internal battery last for RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus? Based on power consumption to clone a key the RW5 battery lasts 30-35 keys and Smart Aerial Plus lasts 45-50 keys before needing to be re-charged. If the devices are left on continuously the unit will go into standby mode if unused after 4 minutes to prevent battery discharge.
Can the Smart Aerial Plus perform the functions of the existing ADC242 Smart Aerial in conjunction with the Smart Pro? Yes, all functions of the existing ADC242 Smart Aerial are being added into the new Smart Aerial Plus and will work in conjunction with the Smart Pro. Moving forward all new Smart Pro developments requiring Smart Aerial capability will be developed with Smart Aerial Plus only.
Can I use the RW5 with multiple MYKEYS Pro accounts? No, but once registered and introduced to an internet connection MYKEYS Pro is not needed to operate the RW5. The RW5 will automatically connect to known internet networks and operate in stand-alone mode.
Can I use the Smart Aerial Plus with multiple MYKEYS Pro accounts? No, once registered to a MYKEYS Pro account you must be logged into that account to operate the Smart Aerial Plus. You cannot share a Smart Aerial Plus across multiple MYKEYS Pro accounts. You can add additional users to a MYKEYS Pro account, and the device is then shareable.
How do I add additional users to a MYKEYS Pro account? In MYKEYS Pro you will go to the “Account” tab and then choose “Branches.” Under “Branches” you will then select “Users” and you will see the option to “Invite a User.” Note, if the invited user already has a MYKEYS Pro account they would need to delete their MKP account and join as a user under the branch or business administrator’s MKP account. Any device should be registered by the business or branch administrator’s profile for sharing across multiple MKP users. Deleting a user’s account will result in de-registration of existing devices, as a result, after joining the existing business or branch, existing devices will need to be registered again.
Can I use the GTI-Pro transponder with older cloning tools like the RW4 Plus and Ilco EZ Clone Plus? Yes, you can use GTI-Pro transponder with the RW4 Plus and Ilco EZ Clone Plus by simply updating the software to version 04.09.098 or higher.
Can I use the old GTI transponder with the RW5 or Smart Aerial Plus? No, the GTI-Pro is required for the RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus.
Which cloneable transponders does the GTI-Pro replace? The GTI-Pro replaces the GTI, T80 Plus, T29C, T128C, and T5 transponders. However, the older PT5 keys will continue to work in the RW5 and Smart Aerial Plus.
Does the GTI-Pro replace the T48 transponder for Megamos ID48 applications? No, the T48 transponder is still needed to clone the Megamos ID48 applications.
